Regional climate characteristics
1) Climate normals

Climate normals are averages over a 30-year period ending in a year that ends in zero.

For example, the 2020 climate normals summarize temperature, precipitation, and other observations for 1991–2020. They are usually updated every 10 years.

2) South Korea’s climate (2020 normals)
  • Mean temperature: 12.8°C
  • Annual precipitation: 1,306.3 mm
3) Changes reported in the original source
  • Temperature increased by 0.3°C compared with 10 years earlier and 0.5°C compared with 20 years earlier.
  • Precipitation increased by 34.1 mm compared with 10 years earlier, but decreased by 25.0 mm compared with 20 years earlier.
4) Compare stations with the national averages

Adjust the annual ranges to filter the map and table on the corresponding tab. Click a station marker to view its monthly climate chart.
